Student Researcher Program
The Student Researcher Program is an opportunity for
college
undergraduate students, graduate students, and others to participate in research at ASMI, in
Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to receiving a unique educational experience, the student
researcher might also receive thesis or course credit or funding from his or her school.
No funding or housing is provided by ASMI. Conversely, no charge is assessed by ASMI to
the student or his/her school. A student can begin and end the program at
any time of the year, with no limited amount of hours per week or number
of weeks.
To start, a student is matched with an ASMI researcher, based
upon the students research interests. The student and the ASMI researcher then
discuss the time of participation and the objectives for both ASMI and the student. The
student then makes arrangements to be in Birmingham, Alabama for the duration of his/her
research. ASMI is willing to help the student locate housing, complete school forms,
complete travel forms, and provide other assistance.
